Squarespace – Turning Ideas into Reality
As someone who’s been using Squarespace for nearly a decade, I can confidently say it’s been one of the most invaluable tools in my entrepreneurial journey.
I’m Sam Harrons, founder of Compendia and CoStudio, and I’ve found that when starting new projects—whether for myself or when helping others—my process doesn’t begin with a traditional business plan. Instead, I dive straight into building a website.
Why? Because building a website forces you to define what really matters—what you want to show, how you want to guide people, and what products or services deserve the spotlight. It’s an exercise in clarity. Squarespace’s slogan, “Make It Real,” really resonates with me because that’s exactly what it does—it brings your vision to life.
When I have ideas sketched out in my notebook, Squarespace is the tool I use to quickly bring those concepts into a working reality. The platform’s ease of use and flexibility make it perfect for fleshing out navigation, crafting user journeys, and creating a structure that evolves as the project grows. For Compendia, CoStudio, and our ongoing ventures, our needs are always changing—but Squarespace’s adaptability means we can shift, update, and refine without hassle.
Beyond my own projects, I’ve built websites for clients, friends, and startups over the years. One of the things I love most about Squarespace is how simple it is to pass the reins to someone else. After a couple of one-to-one sessions (usually over a few coffees), they’re confident enough to update and manage their own site. It’s a tool that empowers creators and business owners alike.
I’ve dabbled with Shopify, which I think is brilliant for more complex e-commerce needs, but when it comes to design, creative flexibility, and ease of use, Squarespace remains unmatched. All of our websites are built on Squarespace, and we couldn’t recommend it highly enough for anyone looking to turn their ideas into something tangible.
Whether you’re building a portfolio, a service-based site, or a brand hub, Squarespace makes it simple to get started—and more importantly, to keep growing.
